“Social Security Payments Up to $943 Issued on Oct. 1: Estimate Your Benefits Here”

Millions of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries will receive their payments on October 1st. Administered by the Social Security Administration, this support is designed for individuals with serious disabilities that limit their ability to earn a living.

SSI Payment Details

Individual recipients can receive up to $943 per month, while couples applying together may be eligible for up to $1,415. Additionally, “essential persons”—those who live with and assist disabled individuals in their daily activities—can receive up to $472.

These amounts have been adjusted by 3.2% to account for inflation compared to the previous year.

It’s important to note that SSI is distinct from traditional Social Security benefits. This means that receiving Social Security does not automatically qualify individuals for SSI, and vice versa.

For current SSI recipients looking to find out their exact payment amounts, the Social Security Administration offers a calculator to help determine their benefits.
